Today I rolled down a yester-road,
I heard some songs we played on the radio.
I saw some high school friends, made a few amends,
And I lived a few old memories again.
Such a part of me has changed,
But I still remember,
And my heart remains the same.
I go back to that old study hall,
just passing notes around.
Football games, and cruising Main,
All the old familiar sounds.
The hairdos and the sideburns,
I guess they are long gone.
But I still know the words to our school song, Carry On.
I’ve come a long long way to be here today
And if I must explain, I think I'd have to say,
it's been a joyful ride, even as I cried.
When I learned a few of the best of us had died,
So the days of marching on.
But we still remember,
When we hear that certain song.
And it takes us back to that old study hall,
just passing notes around.
Football games and cruising Main
all the old familiar sounds.
The hairdos and the sideburns,
I guess they are long gone.
But I still know the words to our school song, Carry On.
Back to all my best friends,
back to relive every chapter once again.
Let's go back to that old study hall, just passing notes around.
Football games, and cruising Main,
All the old familiar sounds.
The hairdos and the sideburns,
I guess they are long gone.
But I still know the words to our school song,
Carry On.
